DROUGHT IN EUROPE AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE SECTOR

Water is an essential resource for our subsistence and the development of our activities. For some time now the lack of rainfall and high temperatures in places such as Catalonia and a large part of the Mediterranean basin have been causing drought problems.

The consequences of the drought affect households, industry, agriculture transport and nature.                                                                                                  This problem is affecting the electronics sector in various ways. Water scarcity reduces the availability of resources for manufacturing, in this case, electronic components. Power disruption due to drought can affect production and the supply chain. It also influences the various processes involved, such as recycling of parts or cooling of components, which require large amounts of water.

Companies must innovate and adopt sustainable strategies to meet these challenges. We must also take the necessary measures to avoid excessive and unnecessary use of water.
